I was just talking to my girlfriend about this the other day. Even in our low Tesla usage state the chargers are increasingly occupied. We pull up and now 6/8 stalls are being used. What happens when even a fraction of all the gas cars switch over? What happens when 100% of the population needs them and needs to charge for an hour? I don’t know.
- colordrops 5y agoCharge at home! We go to a supercharger once every few months.
- JohnJamesRambo 5y agoWe already do. But trips to the big city require a charge to get back home.
- vardump 5y agoWouldn't simply building more charging stations work? Other angle is to increase charging speeds. Of course this might require better batteries, but I'm sure they're improving.
- ip26 5y agoDemand -> Volume -> Economies of scale -> Competition -> Even More Chargers Many of the superchargers people use today were built by 2012-2019 Tesla, which had far less revenue, people, and fleet volume.
