I don’t care in slightest what someone does in their own time if it does no direct harm to anyone else.
As long as he’s not under the influence on the job, I don’t care.
- Animats 5y agoDoD cares. They have a zero-tolerance policy and regular drug testing. [1] https://www.dvidshub.net/news/393472/new-forensic-toxicology-equipment-sets-army-up-more-precise-and-specific-drug-testing https://www.dvidshub.net/news/393472/new-forensic-toxicology...
- sgjohnson 5y agoYes, I know that, but how is it relevant? Your question was to the audience here.
- kortilla 5y ago> As long as he’s not under the influence on the job, I don’t care. That’s a bit of a sticking point. Where do you draw the boundary of “under the influence”? Pilots are not allowed to fly planes if they have had alcohol in the last 24 hours, which is much longer than the standard for driving for “under the influence”. Would you consider someone who is actively going through heroin withdrawals to be fit to fly an airplane and control missiles?

- sgjohnson 5y ago> Would you consider someone who is actively going through heroin withdrawals to be fit to fly an airplane and control missiles? Let’s be reasonable here. This is an unfit physical state for basically anything, so definitely no.
