It's probably just network congestion.
- aurizon 5y agoYes, a large crowd of ~~50,000 will have a large number of cell phones = dropped lines, queuing to voicemail etc, or lack of completion. This is well known. The cure is also well known, the venue buys a few extra cell sites from the providers - which will languish unused 95% of the time, or asks the cell providers to supply them. Both solutions add costs to various , yet neither the cell companies nor the stadium is able to benefit in terms of $$. If stadium calls were charged at 10-20 cents/minutes - who would use them. So we tolerate the losses. I get a text message for any voicemail - which is a low b/w use = it gets through = I act on the priority of each - usually I text them.
