The problem is that with only one side of a story, you never get a truthful story. The usefulness of having both sides of the story cannot be overstated. Otherwise the side telling the story doesn't even have to try and keep it realistic and can forgo any notion of truth. Allowing for more blatant lies to spread as truth. It is a very complex problem that I would say is best fought in early childhood development, by teaching our coming generations methods of discovering truth.
