The Battery That Flies
- jeffrallen 5y agoHow can it be that the New York Times has a grammar error in the caption, the first thing you read on this page? "Alia, an experimental electric vertical aircraft built by Beta, an aviation tech start-up, flied over Burlington, Vt., during a test flight in February." What the hell happened to the minimum amount of pride in quality? (Yes, as a matter of fact, I also shake my fist at clouds, too. Why do you ask?)
- c22 5y agoThis stuff used to be printed out once and distributed on paper so getting it right was important. Now you can go back and change anything at any time and even the people who originally saw the error might find themselves with self-doubt, so it's hard to justify the expense of thorough and careful editing.
- mrpf1ster 5y agoI can’t seem to find any information on how long the battery lasts. Is it on their website anywhere?
- mrpf1ster 5y agoFound it, apparently it’s capable of carrying 600 pounds 250 miles. Forbes has a much better article on this: https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeremybogaisky/2021/12/16/beta-technologies-amazon-ups-evtol/?sh=6aa77d922c24 https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeremybogaisky/2021/12/16/beta-...
