Have you tried Kagi Search? I've been using it for a while and it's pretty good. The search time seems to be around 0.2s on average, which is noticeable. The search results seem relevant and I like the customizability. The only downsides are that you have to sign up for their private beta, which takes a while, and that it will be subscription-based upon their official launch.
