How much diesel fuel do you need to burn to mine the materials for the 100 batteries each of the 604,163 landscapers would need to abide by this advice?
Electrics are weaker comparably so they wouldn't be appropriate for the majority of work done by landscapers and tree services.
I suppose it would make sense for a homeowner who does the occasional cleanup, but even that has limits unless they have multiple batteries. And you still need to charge them on the grid.
The article dismisses real problems with the plea, which is fundamentally flawed on its face due to immense impracticality.
Not to mention, the extra demand of electricity if everyone went electric for everything would not only send prices soaring; more natural gas and fossil fuels would be required to meet demand and upgrade the infrastructure.
Line trucks don't run on solar.

I'd like to see the author, living in a concrete jungle in an overpriced apartment, rake an acre of leaves without crying about blisters or breaking a nail.
