Anecdotal but I did LSD when I was 19 and have been a been a huge consumer of mental health services, antidepressants and anxiety meds ever since. Prior to that horrific incident, I had no issues to speak of. So we can't say that they can cure it, but they most certainly can cause it. Perhaps the sword needs to cut both ways to be effective?
