  Serious question: What if a rich person offers to buy a bankrupt central government? France's central government budget is 410 billion € in 2020. In a "normal", non covid year, it has a ~70 billion € deficit. It has a similar deficit since a long time and things will probably worsen in next years, while revenues are declining since at least 10 years. Is bankruptcy something on the horizon? France is not alone, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Belgium are in a similar situation. France's price is perhaps too high but there are many rich people who could buy for example Belgium.
