Do you live in the USA with work authorization? You already have the freedom, probably...find another open position somewhere looking for someone like you, start working somewhere else
- Trasmatta 5y agoYeah, this is always true. I think I was coming more from the perspective of a 1-6 month freelance project being a lower commitment than starting a new full time job. Even if I could absolutely jump ship after 1-6 months anyway, signing on full time just feels like more of a commitment. And also that I'm fairly sure I would run into the same problems at each company I moved to that I do at each of my previous companies. Freelance or contract work might also open the door to more projects where I could be the sole or primary developer on something. A lot of my problems stem from how writing software on a team is almost like trying to write a novel with 30 other authors, who all have a different creative vision for the book.
