STOP WITH THE MINIMALISM. I don't want my laptop to have _the least amount of features_, I want it to have _as many features as makes it useful to me_. These are not fashion accessories, these are life productivity machines. I need 4 USB-A/C ports (at least 2 that are 3.x and fast-charging), an Ethernet jack in the back (not in the way on the side), a lid that doesn't get stuck at 120 degrees, fans in the back, a monitor port (preferably in the back out of the way), a hard drive light, separate volume buttons, 14-16" screen that isn't crap, headphone jack, and easy to upgrade RAM and hard drive.
Laptops these days are RIDICULOUS, poorly-designed, wanna-be Jony Ive slabs that look pretty and are frustrating. We had good designs years ago! What happened?! They've gotten hard to use unless you're a coffee-shop blogger, they used to be easy from kitchen-table user to weekend coder.
