Amazon drone crashes hit Jeff Bezos' delivery dreams
- contingencies 5y agoInteresting article but lacking in technical details. Can anyone say technically what has Wing done right that Amazon hasn't? All players seem to be are picking super open locations (like Canberra) to test and many are looking at the US. I support part of that is having yards as delivery sites and part of that is regulatory. The FAA just made a progressive BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) report[0] suggesting aggressive regulatory changes in favour of drone commerce. These are yet to hit regulation. It is striking that they both use a quadcopter-cum-plane design trajectory, which would not seem to offer great benefits in denser urban environments.
