This isn’t any better than current social media imo.
- ozim 5y agoIt is better in a way that only people who can write HTML by hand are supposed to publish on the internet. While it is questionable if they are any better than general population, they probably have the same traits and common way of thinking. So they would like the same people to be on the internet. Web 2.0 allows anyone to post anything so eternal September is here alive and we are living it. But closing possibility to post stuff on the internet is not the way to go.
- olah_1 5y agoNon-techy “annoying” people can and have learned to code HTML. It just takes proper motivation. When the only game in town was Myspace, many people learned just so they could have an awesome page. Knowing HTML / CSS gave you more street cred, so to speak. Now that incentive doesn’t exist. But the same people that would have learned are still posting online. Being open to the general public isn’t a problem to me because sub-cultures naturally spring up. Hacker News is like a safe space for people that would have made these manual websites 15 years ago lol.
