- PaulHoule 5y agoYeah. Oprah is pretty remarkable to me (and Illouz) because she is uplifting and sleazy at the same time. She’s uplifting enough to evade many of the attacks on the talk TV genre she is in. It is also remarkable that a black woman would become such a heroine as she is to older white women like my mother in law.
