I love this essay, but this claim is false: On most large sites this can be mitigated by blocking of toxic users Given the design of the internet, it cannot. Large sites have the ability to block usernames, IPs, etc... not actual users. I realize this is hardly earth-shattering news to the HN audience, but it's meaningful.
