I.e. (setq org-capture-templates '(("j" "Journal" (file+olp+datetree "~/journal.org") "* %?")) ;Add more templates as needed (global-set-key (kbd "C-c c") #'org-capture) Then `C-c c j` will prompt for a new entry, `C-c C-c` to save it. The `file+olp+datetree` will automatically put them in a year/month/day hierarchy.
