Minor quibble: a heat engine converts heat to mechanical energy. So is a heat engine with no moving parts a contradiction in terms?
- yetihehe 5y agoYeah, this is a thermophotovoltaic cell, which uses heat apart from light. But because it uses heat, they called it heat engine.
- BlueTemplar 5y agoYou can just combine it with an electric motor. (Those are typically 95+% efficient.)
