This is an awful hot take on an entire industry. Is medical misdiagnoses a problem? Yes. Do doctors always think they know everything? Of course not. Are medical providers not optimizing? Can they? Much of the decision making is outside of their control when you need prior authorizations for patients to afford acceptable care. Companies like UnitedHealth shouldn't be making record profits in a pandemic. The author should go read a book or two before sounding off on this. It's not that simple. Dunning-Kruger effect may apply here.
