My town was “fiberized” twice. First by the local power company around 15 years ago. They laid the cable in the streets and then each house had to get their cable from the street and to the house wall (or they could pay a good chunk of money to have the power company do it). A couple of years ago the power company made a huge mistake when they changed TV-solution provider. The new TV-box was so shitty that the old provider started a new fiber company and gave every resident a deal they could not say no to so now most houses have two fiber cables into their house. Anyway, my point was that you can outsource the curb-to-house stretch to the home owners.
