Show HN: Flint – Pinterest for Text
- leedj 5y agoHey HN! We’ve spent the last few months developing Flint, an online archive where you can collect and compound knowledge. Think of it like Pinterest, but for text. And, instead of using boards and pins, we use networks of notes. When you add an article or a note to Flint, it will provide you a personalized and context-rich curated list of notes from your archive. Not just ones with matching keywords, but also the ones with related contextual information. At the moment, we’ve built a simple desktop MVP that we’ve been using on a daily basis. Now, we want to find out whether other people will enjoy using it as much as we do. We still have a loooong way to go, but we want to hear your thoughts and opinions on it. Please feel free to test our app, ask questions and give feedback (good or bad)!
- derekzhouzhen 5y agoI'd suggest you to explain the intended usage pattern without assuming people are familiar with Pinterest. You are not an add-on to Pinterest, so why give them free ads. If you can't explain what you do in 3 mins to a lay person you are doomed anyway.
- leedj 4y agoThanks for the meaningful feedback! We'll try to work on explaining our own usage pattern.
