Microsoft: Moving Windows 11 taskbar may never be an option again
- thesuperbigfrog 5y ago"with Windows 11, Microsoft took away the ability to move the taskbar, which is one of the most requested features on the Microsoft Feedback Hub, with over 17,500 upvotes." People care about the taskbar position because it impacts how they use their computer. The number of votes shows this. "Unfortunately, another Windows 10 taskbar feature is sorely missed, which is the ability to uncombine open windows for the same program. As it is common for these people to have multiple instances of the same application open, whether that be Notepad or Office applications, combining them into a single icon on the taskbar them it too time-consuming to switch between Windows." It might seem small, but it takes more time to switch between different windows for the same program. Why would Microsoft remove perfectly good features that users want? Did they not learn from the UI mess that was Windows 8 that their users do not like drastic changes for no apparent reason?
- RGamma 5y agoIt'll be fixed in Windows 12. Tick tock goes the Windows release cycle. Meanwhile Windows 10 is turning out to be another XP or 7 for me. One needs to stick it out until the next "tick".
