I have a very uncommon name (though not unique) and I've had people mistakenly signing up for services with my firstname.lastname@gmail.com (which I don't usually sign up to services with). The annoying thing is the number of services these days that don't seem to require you to verify your email. Examples of the above included eBay and Spotify. On both occasions I had to contact support to ask them to delete the account.
