Let's see those long haul battery powered trucks then, hm.
What do you think, when will we see like 20 % of market share of battery powered electric trucks (long haul)?
I say, we'll never see that, ever.
- dagw 4y agoI have no idea what the break down of the market is, but there are a lot of trucks that never drive 'long haul'. Right now I'm seeing more and more electric trucks on the road making deliveries. They generally go from depots 10-20 miles outside of the city to into the city and deliver to a bunch of stores and business, and then back to the depot, where they can charge while waiting for the next load. That sort of work is perfect for electric trucks.

That sort of work is perfect for electric trucks. Yes, 10-20 is not long haul. So you're not really addressing my point.
- dagw 4y agoMy point was that even if electric is completely useless for long haul trucking, that doesn't mean that electric trucks don't have a bright future.
- ohiovr 4y agoI wouldn't ridicule hydrogen as something made by God's law. But without an alternative to precious metal membranes that can work economically hydrogen as a fuel won't be going far here.
