I heavily object to the title. I worked on this project, and it is, by no means, "by Hugging Face". It was done in a Hackathon organized by Hugging Face along with Google Cloud. Apart from one person, none of us are or were affiliated to Hugging Face. This is such a misleading title. Google Cloud provided the free compute. The project was overseen by a DS from another company who now works at Weights and Biases. Hugging Face spaces are a place to host Deep Learning model demos. This is not created "by Hugging Face".

  Please don't make sweeping generalisations from a shallow understanding of the situation. The linked page correctly gives credits to the authors. HuggingFace offers a platform to host such demos, their involvement in the hackathon had nothing to do with the credit attribution issue. The error is 100% on the submitter's fault (or whoever edited the title afterward).

FWIW it appears as though you're mentioned directly on a link named "Project Report" on the OP's link's homepage (visible to me above the fold when the page loads). Congrats!

  This project was also recently mentioned in a New York Times article [0] by Cade Metz. On the last paragraph, if you click on the link, you will find the HF space, and the GitHub repo link and also the project report. On both of these links, you will find the full contributors list. Hey, I'm the submitter. Please accept my apologies! I submitted this but did not understand the difference between Hugging Face the hosting platform and their own work/contributions. I truly didn't intend to miscredit. I reached out to the HN admins over email to ask them to rename the submission. Sorry again!

It was an innocent mistake. No one intended to steal credit for your work. I've fixed the title now. In the future you can get better and quicker results by letting us know about misleading titles at hn@ycombinator.com.
