Lithium or platinum?
- ephbit 5y agoSo ... you ridicule hydrogen. Let's see those long haul battery powered trucks then, hm. What do you think, when will we see like 20 % of market share of battery powered electric trucks (long haul)? I say, we'll never see that, ever.
- dagw 5y agoI have no idea what the break down of the market is, but there are a lot of trucks that never drive 'long haul'. Right now I'm seeing more and more electric trucks on the road making deliveries. They generally go from depots 10-20 miles outside of the city to into the city and deliver to a bunch of stores and business, and then back to the depot, where they can charge while waiting for the next load. That sort of work is perfect for electric trucks.

- dagw 5y agoMy point was that even if electric is completely useless for long haul trucking, that doesn't mean that electric trucks don't have a bright future.
- ohiovr 5y agoI wouldn't ridicule hydrogen as something made by God's law. But without an alternative to precious metal membranes that can work economically hydrogen as a fuel won't be going far here.
