Russia warns Sweden and Finland against NATO membership
- jleyank 5y agoThere has to be joint security for Europeans. If it's not Nato then there has to be a counterpart in an EU security agreement. This can share forces with Nato yet exclude the US or possibly the US, Canada and Turkey.
- chmaynard 5y agoPutin has clearly demonstrated that he is willing to make unprovoked attacks on any and all of Russia's neighboring countries. Warnings like this are precisely the reason why Sweden and Finland should consider joining NATO.
- Woodi 5y agoSweden and Finland answers: Do you guarantee our independence ? Like you guaranteed that to Ukraine ? Putin also tried to create EU like fiscal organization with countries around Rossia but no one was so stupid to trust Rossia justice and honesty - Rossia is dedicated to being parasite country. Also Rossia example shows what happen when technical know-how is limited only to military (or mafia) - it fails. Then it need to be re-stolen, again, only for military becouse mafia in charge do not care about anybody else. Humans brain is limited - when you are busy keeping your position you do not have time and resources to create system when you actually can keep your position safe - playing with evil have that effect.
- timonoko 5y agoThere is actually very little in common with Sweden and Finland. Sweden is very well boxed in between secure countries. The problem is the 5% vocal Swedish minority in Finland promoting all kinds of worthless "Nordic" sheisse. There was already a Nordic Defense Pact before the Winter War, but official Sweden opted out and actively hindered war efforts by preventing arms transports via Sweden.
