HR chief says your boss wants to boil you slowly to get you back in the office
- rossdavidh 5y agoIf the analogy is apt, then they are doomed to fail at this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiling_frog https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiling_frog "...according to modern biologists the premise is false: a frog that is gradually heated will jump out. Changing location is a natural thermoregulation strategy for frogs and other ectotherms, and is necessary for survival in the wild." i.e. the sun tries to gradually heat frogs nearly every day, and the ones that don't know to hop to somewhere cooler when it gets too hot, died off long ago. Now, whether or not the metaphor _is_ apt in this case, that I cannot say.
- jleyank 5y agoI would think the morale of management > morale of workers because like the game industry they'll just get new workers. Because "it's Google". Real estate has to be used to avoid embarrassment. People will have to prove that such thoughts are incorrect, but the game industry provides a data point that it'll take a while.
