DALL·E Mini
- chromatin 5y agoUnfortunately, the limited training data makes the results here substantially less impressive or interesting compared to the original DALL-E. Shame that the original model wasn’t released. DALL-E 2 is in a whole ‘nother universe.

- viggity 5y agoeither the astronaut is Shai Halud, or they are a literal ass face.
- webmaven 5y agoIt's surprisingly hard to find prompts that give good results. Almost anything anthropomorphic is a no go, and X made of Y usually just gives you an X or a Y. Here are a few I found that are pretty consistent in mixing the mentioned influences. Portrait of a steampunk cyborg by Andy Warhol Steampunk landscape oil painting Art deco teapot Organic spaceship in the clouds Sketch of alien anatomy by Leonardo da Vinci
- webmaven 5y ago"Cyborg robot portrait in the clouds" produces some nice results too.
- __rito__ 5y agoI heavily object to the title. I worked on this project, and it is, by no means, "by Hugging Face". It was done in a Hackathon organized by Hugging Face along with Google Cloud. Apart from one person, none of us are or were affiliated to Hugging Face. This is such a misleading title. Google Cloud provided the free compute. The project was overseen by a DS from another company who now works at Weights and Biases. Hugging Face spaces are a place to host Deep Learning model demos. This is not created "by Hugging Face".

- emteycz 5y agoThe title is different from what is on the site, you know.
- MasterScrat 5y agoPlease don't make sweeping generalisations from a shallow understanding of the situation. The linked page correctly gives credits to the authors. HuggingFace offers a platform to host such demos, their involvement in the hackathon had nothing to do with the credit attribution issue. The error is 100% on the submitter's fault (or whoever edited the title afterward).
- dang 5y agoPlease don't be a jerk in HN comments. We want curious conversation here. Swipes and supercilious putdowns are really bad for that. https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html
- IE6 5y agoFWIW it appears as though you're mentioned directly on a link named "Project Report" on the OP's link's homepage (visible to me above the fold when the page loads). Congrats!
- __rito__ 5y agoThis project was also recently mentioned in a New York Times article [0] by Cade Metz. On the last paragraph, if you click on the link, you will find the HF space, and the GitHub repo link and also the project report. On both of these links, you will find the full contributors list. - smartis2812 5y agoWhen I try the 'the official Dalle-E Mini demo' I just get a runtime error with Container logs... :/

- mensetmanusman 5y agoHilarious. This is like DALLE-2’s 18 month old little brother who found crayons.
- __rito__ 5y agoThis model doesn't work that good with human and animal figures. Try anything without them. Like "eiffel tower on the moon" or "armchair shaped like a mango" or "picture of a beach on sunrise".
- skc 5y agoNot very impressive compared to DALL-E, understandably.
- pingeroo 5y agoIf you plan on sleeping soon, please don't enter any prompt containing a public figure. Nightmare fuel.
