Rise of J2Cl: Java web development after GWT
- gavinray 4y agoAlso worth mentioning is "bck2brwser" by Jaroslav Tulach: https://github.com/jtulach/bck2brwsr https://github.com/jtulach/bck2brwsr The guy is a genius. Original Netbeans engineer IIRC, now working on GraalVM stuff.
- NovaX 4y agoIn his book on api design, he repeatedly calls himself the next Newton. He rants that others don't recognize his genius yet, but expected to be revered by historians. The actual content in the book was shallow and poor. I hope he received mental help and is doing better now.
- mdaniel 4y agoThe blog post failed to link to their GH repo: https://github.com/Vertispan/j2cl https://github.com/Vertispan/j2cl and it's Apache 2 for those like to know: https://github.com/Vertispan/j2cl/blob/rebased_master/LICENSE https://github.com/Vertispan/j2cl/blob/rebased_master/LICENS... Interestingly enough, their M2 repo contains only "-SNAPSHOT" releases, and even those were only published back in 2021. Although there's a commit alleging an actual release: https://github.com/Vertispan/j2cl/commit/482e1592cd84063c16a7f44c082b351a9cb46a2b https://github.com/Vertispan/j2cl/commit/482e1592cd84063c16a... which seems to have gone to Central, so it seems best not to use their M2 repo: https://search.maven.org/artifact/com.vertispan.j2cl/j2cl-parent https://search.maven.org/artifact/com.vertispan.j2cl/j2cl-pa...
- evacchi 4y agoI think that is a fork. The main upstream work is at the google repository
