- bediger4000 5y agoDecent exploration of the forces and considerations behind "authoritative recommendations", such as whether to get vaccinated for COVID, or wear a mask. I think this misses out bad faith actors in the audience. It would seem that a certain segment of US national leadership wanted pandemic control efforts to fail, and worked towards that failure, so as to be able to make political gains from the failure, by blaming the current administration.
