Satellite images: Russian military convoy heads south toward Donbas region
- LinuxBender 5y agoPerhaps I am alone on this view but I find it fascinating they are able to just pick up and move in convoy formation to their next destination. I would be really curious what an A10 pilot's take on this would be.
- rolph 5y agoit doesnt look like there are any SPAD-like vehicles in the photos, but thats only a small peek at what is probably near 15-20 out of a convoy of 400-500 vehicles judging from the spacing and eyeballing the relative scale of things. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2K22_Tunguska https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2K22_Tunguska also re 2K22 : https://twitter.com/CalibreObscura/status/1499440008419229702 https://twitter.com/CalibreObscura/status/149944000841922970... a snarky little tweet but they are being used in ukraine
- oneoff786 5y agoThey’ve been losing convoys left and right to drone strikes, artillery, and night time raids. But the Russians are committed to their Zerg rush so what are you gonna do?
- adhesive_wombat 5y agoI'm more surprised the bridge between Crimea and Russia is still standing.

- etempleton 5y agoAn A10 could certainly wreck havoc on a convoy such as this, but it would itself be highly exposed against modern anti air and air superiority/multirole fighters.
- dragonwriter 5y ago> I would be really curious what an A10 pilot's take on this would be. An Su-25 pilot’s take would be more relevant, but I don't think Ukraine's Su-25 are flying a lot of sorties right now. (And even Russia’s, which seem to be flying more, aren’t having a great time.) Neither side is able to suppress the others air defenses (airborne or ground based) enough for tank-killer jets to be used at anything like full effectiveness.
