- IAmEveryone 5y agoAehm, no! Afghanistan was a reaction to 9/11, since the ruling Taliban had been accomodating and supporting Al Quaeda. The first (or second, depending on how you're counting) Gulf War started with Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait.
