Even if you are not consciously aware of why you are blogging, on some level you know... and you either feel happy because you are clearly getting that outcome, or it feels meaningless. Writing just because "everyone does it" is stupid. The internet is already full of stuff. Writing for adsense, no thanks. Also, who is your audience? The majority of internet is stupid people. Talking to stupid people is a waste of time; it's not like they will remember what you said anyway. I only write when I have a specific audience in mind, who I believe would benefit from reading that article.
