This false alternative is always brought up I'm not 100% sure I understand what you mean here, but my nearest grocery store in London is 3 doors away. My second nearest in 3 mins walk away. My 3rd nearest, 3 mins 30 secs away. My nearest big supermarket is 10 mins walk away. That's the alternative here.
