  Generally people who come via work visas are likely to be better educated and will probably be ok if they have to leave. While the immigrants who tend to come illegally are doing so mostly out of desperation (economic or political). There’s also not much interest politically to make it easier for Indian immigrants specifically. For folks who have already immigrated, they have a “I got mine, fuck you” mentality, while the people in the process itself can’t vote and influence political decisions. The community of Indian Americans is also not large enough to have extensive networks similar to that of immigrants from South/Central American nations.
