Do many companies offer vertical promotions when hiring? I'm not sure if a company will neccessarily want to hire someone who's never had worked at EM level to do EM's job. I mean, obviously it can happen if they can't get legit EM candidates, but I'd assume they'd be their first pick (them or promoting from within).
