U.S. Copyright Office Rules A.I. Art Can't Be Copyrighted
- detaro 5y agoI think the headline and even the article aren't quite clear about the core restriction: "A.I. art that's claimed to have been created with no human creative input". Lots of "AI art" gets copyrights protection by framing it as the "AI" being a tool used by a human artist, the key point here is that the submitter insisted he didn't have any contribution and was merely submitting it on behalf of the "AI" who is the sole creator. That's what's being rejected by the Copyright Office.
