I know it's offtopic, but adding perf probes to glibc's malloc in a running system was quite revealing: - qsort calls malloc - and qsort is used a lot in glibc internal functions such as gethostbybame so... Yeah. - snprintf can call malloc too I'm sure I'm not finished discovering fun stuff.
