I'm not dogmatic about it, so I expect I have on occasion, but I certainly don't make a habit of it, and I cringe at the kind of casual lying I hear a lot of parents doing. That said, some information is definitely too heavy for young children, so I will demur or omit details when I feel it's necessary.
