I agree but I think it is important to proclaim officially that we are about miss the +1.5ºC.
The effects are global warming, e.g. climate dereliction and loss of biodiversity are becoming more and more obvious.
We need people to make the correlation themselves. Greta Thunberg is right to say "Don't listen to me, listen to the scientists". But that doesn't work. Not even well educated and decent politicians don't act accordingly.
People need experiencing themselves the effects of climate dereliction before - maybe - voting for the relevant policies, by election politicians who rise up to the gravity of the issue.
France already suffers noticeably from the climate dereliction (droughts, floods, forests dying, decrease of agricultural yields, etc) ; the USA have been having recurrent droughts and huge fires ; Australia had enormous fires, 50ºC temperatures and recently huge floods ; floods as well in Belgium, Germany, India ; droughts in the southwest part of Brazil, with the Amazon forest on the verge of becoming a savanna.
So I feel like we should repeat, that the media should repeat - because Science proves it - that this is what +1.5ºC is like.
Wanna really try +2º ?!?
It's like anti-covid-vax: they need to suffer to change. In my family, everybody has a master degree or PhD ; they are all well aware of the environmental stakes... and most keep flying 6,000 miles or more for vacations. With their kids, whom they teach the importance of recycling.
