- LadyCailin 5y agoThere was just this too, wtf is going on with Boeing? https://avherald.com/h?article=4f700fec https://avherald.com/h?article=4f700fec
- Alupis 5y agoNothing. This is a 22 year old aircraft that's changed hands a lot[1] and is flown hard. It's a different aircraft type too... Every time an aircraft, let alone a Boeing, has a failure, everyone starts to point out every other situation too. These two situations have literally nothing to do with each other. - sofixa 5y agoThere was also the Chinese 737 crash. It might be just a coincidence that it's all Boeing's, it might be poor maintenance due to the pandemic, who knows.
- kayodelycaon 5y agoThe only thing in common is Boeing made the plane. Literally every other detail is different. One was clearly a mechanical failure in an old, heavily used aircraft and the other is likely a some kind of unexpected automation behavior. Possibilities for Air France include but not limited to: misconfiguration, failure of sensors, programming fault, electronics failure, or pilot not expecting the automation to be in the mode it's in—which could be a training issue, pilot error, or failure of the manufacturer to document the behavior.
- sklargh 5y agoI am really glad everyone walked away and thus I am allowed to focus on how much is pains me to see a 757 leave the skies. They are, IMHO, the best looking airliner out there.
- RcouF1uZ4gsC 5y ago> They are, IMHO, the best looking airliner out there. You are off by 10. The best looking airliner is the 747. So majestic, so beautiful, so original.
- sklargh 5y agoWas at an airport where I was able to see both operational recently, real treat. Felt like the end of an era.
- devilbunny 5y agoYes, if you still have a chance to ride on a 747, take it. They will not be passenger aircraft much longer, though I think they will have a decent run in the freight world. It's an extraordinary vehicle.
- psanford 5y agoJuan Brown already has a video up analyzing what is known about this accident, focusing on how the hydraulic systems work in the 757: https://youtu.be/qPk23hPooKY https://youtu.be/qPk23hPooKY
