You're ignoring the practical benefits of engineering power-efficient software for the mass audience of mobile devices with limited energy storage to begin with.
It's not just about carbon footprint. Battery life matters.
- yjftsjthsd-h 5y agoOh sure; I'm 100% in favor of obsessing over power efficiency in the name of keeping your device running cool or making the battery last longer. I intended only to say that at least phones and laptops are, as far as I can see, basically irrelevant for climate/grid-power purposes.
