The TCP window sizing algorithm happens to also be used by some ant colonies - https://biomimicry.org/introducing-the-anternet/ https://biomimicry.org/introducing-the-anternet/ - it wasn't based on the ants' behavior, but it's a nifty example of some kind of convergent evolution.
