This looks like a PR stunt for the Right to Repair. Google phones are very difficult to fix and they break easily when fixing. Screens and parts easily break when open. I have failed twice with Pixel phones and the cost to replace those are quite expensive. iPhones on the other hand are easier to open and replace parts even though Apple mostly doesn't allow 3rd party parts.
