It may actually make sense for a nation to try and protect public trust in the electoral process. We have gone in the opposite direction in the United States, and my gut tells me that mail in ballots to every mailbox (and in dumpsters and boxes left randomly by te side of the road) wasn’t a good thing for our nation, in the greater sweep of history.
