I hear the only thing that makes the US a super-power is that commodities are priced in USD. If the main supplier starts selling in some other currency, then you no long have a super-power.
Im sure im not the only one who has seen this talk playing out of the years with oil being the main focus of attention. Intersting how this move plays to that rhetoric.

But to say US supremacy is the result of pricing commodities in US dollar is a particularly bizzare take. How was the Soviet Union also a super power?
