I bought the newest Dell XPS 15 model last year and everything was supported out of the gate, including HDR and touchscreen. The biggest problems I had were platforms (few commercial streaming sites support >1080p, let alone 4K and none that I know of support HDR on Linux), games (my steam library is still ~30% of Windows’) and random finicky ness with audio bluetooth (alsa and bluez problems). None of that was enough to push me away from it, but those problems would also exist on a custom built desktop with fully supported hardware.
