Human beings are not flowers to be sorted into a bouquet by color. It is racist to look at a persons skin color first, to decide if you will do business with them, or give them power. Lady Justice herself is depicted as blind since 1543.

- jl2718 5y agoI have never thought of “justice is blind” as relating to race specifically, until recently when race became the central theme of all public discourse. I had previously thought of it as being rational (scales) and impartial (blindfold) in their execution of the law. That concept hardly makes sense now in the era of judicial “interpretation”.
