- uberman 5y agoDo you know why the US motto changed in the 1950s from "E pluribus unum" to 'In God We Trust' or why that phrase is printed on all US currency? Any Regan republican can tell you why and I say that as a liberal. I remember a time when US conservatives thought Russia a bitter foe and that being a communist sympathizer was to oppose everything America stood for. Hell, until recently conservatives criticized some liberals for being "socialists". Now I see conservatives heralding Putin and supporting communist expansion through military conquest while allying themselves with Russian propaganda networks as kindred spirits. Hell we even build a border wall. A border wall! We spent most of the last 100 years including fighting in serval wars trying to stop that kind of thing. Ronald Regan would turn over in his grave.
