This week I got a new MacBook that was setup clean. I spent 45 minutes trying to figure out how to use literally anything other than Vi to make a Mercurial commit. It was extremely difficult to specify what text editor to use. And no, don’t you god damn dare reply with any sentence containing the word “just”. I’m a life long Windows user (game dev). I’m fully convinced that Linux and macOS are both garbage dumpster fires for development. Linux and Mac users are fully convinced that Windows is a dumpster fire for development. I’m not sure who’s right and whose wrong. There’s a lot to be said for the devil you know.
